Meet Allison Teng- Program Manager and Founder of CurvyGirlChic

Someone who exudes radiance, power and positive energy—these are just a few things that come to mind when we think about Allison Teng, the Founder of CurvyGirlChic.com.  With a social media footprint of well over 100,000 people, Allison Teng built her website as a place for women to go to to learn about style, and feel inspired when it comes to their everyday work looks. Allison is also a full time program manager at a telecommunications development company in addition to her job as the Founder of CurvyGirlChic, so Allison truly epitomizes the lives her readers live, day in and day out.

Allison has truly built a destination for women who need and want fashion advice from someone who is walking her talk. Allison's platform is where she shares her everyday experience with style and dressing, bringing inspiration to her legions of followers.

When asked what inspires Allison to stay above the curve she said, “I think women shouldn't be afraid to try different styles. I spent my 20's trying on different figurative (and sometimes literal) fashion hats. I did the preppy thing, tried boho, leaned hard into the California beachy look, moved onto edgy/rocker vibes, and landed somewhere in between all of those with my personal style. Once you've tried a little bit of everything, it's much easier to tell what you love the most! It's at that point that building out your forever wardrobe is the most rewarding!”

With fashion and retail in a state of flux, Allison says she hopes to see "more brands taking a step toward sustainability, which is why I’m so inspired by Pari Passu! By focusing on creating clothing that's meant to last rather than throwaway/fast fashion there would be so much less waste and environmental impact from the fashion industry.”

“Rather than buying many pieces, I want women to realize that it’s important to buy one quality jacket that you will have forever. It’s much better for not only the environment, but your bottom line in the long run.”

“It’s exciting to see how far the fashion industry has come, but I’m even more excited to see where it will go. With the majority of women in America being over a size 14+, it’s about time we are given not only the choices, but quality garments that we can wear forever. That’s why I’m so inspired by Pari Passu.”
